I have been able to install VAX and RISC UWS 2.0 on Wren III and V disks in the past using several VAXstation 3100's and DECstation 3100's. However, now I am trying to install RISC UWS 2.2D on a Wren VI disk on a DECstation 5000, and I have encountered a problem. The chpt stuff is correctly set to contain the a, b, and g partitions. I mkfs the a and g partitions using the following commands since the number of sectors per track is 54 and number of tracks is 15: /etc/mkfs /dev/rz0a 32678 54 15 /etc/mkfs /dev/rz0g 1197000 54 15 Afterwards, performing an "fsck" results in 2 or 3 errors for each partition: SPARE FIELDS OF INODE CONTAINED VALUES I=XXXXX CLEAR? PARTIALLY ALLOCATED INODE I=XXXXX CLEAR? If I ignore the errors or clear them, I encounter problems with setld later on when it tries to install the required subsets. The error I get is: "There were fatal verification error for subset UDTBASE031." Obviously I cannot continue from this point on. If I had cleared the fsck errors before running setld, there are no fsck errors at this point either. Any ideas as to how else I should mkfs the partitions? Thanks for any hints!
