Hi,
I have problems to setup UUCP on our Ethernet network. I have two
machines called "sys1" and "sys2" on the same network.
The following files are those UUCP related files I changed.
L-devices:
sys1 :
TCP - - 540 -
sys2 :
TCP - - 540 -
L.sys:
sys1 :
sys2 Any TCP 540 sys2
sys2 :
sys1 Any TCP 540 sys1
L.cmd:
bothe have
PATH=/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/ucb
rmail X1
rnews X1
lpr X1
uusend X9
bnproc X1
unbatchnews X1
uux X9
uuxp x9
ls x9
USERFILE:
sys1 :
Usys2,sys2 /usr
sys2 :
Usys1,sys1 /usr
When I tested the system with the command "/usr/lib/uucp/uucico -r1 -ssys2 -x9"
on sys1. In the LOGFILE it complains
"root sys2 (6/11-17:25-8367) FAILED (call to sys2, NO DEVICE )
Could anybody what's wrong with my setup ? Thanks in advance.

The standard Ultrix uucp (1.3 to 3.1C) doesn't support tcp connections. You can patch it a bit here and a bit there and get some action, but it's simpler to install the BSD uucp programs if you have sources. > Could anybody what's wrong with my setup ? Thanks in advance.
