We just got two DEC 5400s last week and they have a second Ethernet board installed. However, when we boot, the second Ethernet (qe0) gives the console message (which also appears in syserr) when the syserr.right:qe0: DEC DELQA Ethernet Interface DEQNA-lock Mode, hardware address 08:00:2b:17:37:8c We cannot get the second Ethernet connection between the two machines (the short segment of thinwire between the two machines is for the purpose of dedicated NFS traffic between the two only) to function reliably. We have already replaced the thinwire, tees, terminators, and have had the DEC service technician swap the second Ethernet board in each machine to no avail. It looks like there must be a config problem of some sort. We are running Ultrix 4.0. Has anyone else experienced anything similar or know what the "DELQA: lock mode" message means. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide. Oh, by the way, NFS runs fine over the primary Ethernet adapter. ========================================================================== Bob DeBula | Internet: bobd@hpuxa.ircc.ohio-state.edu The Ohio State University | Disclaimer: These are my views, not the U's Davros sez: When my Daleks compute they use X-TER-MI-NALS!
