i have two problems, has anyone else seen them? 1) Although spacefor is temporarily kludged to do echo 10000 ; exit 0 i am still getting this on the _occasional_ incoming batch... incoming news discarded due to space shortage uuxqt cmd (rnews ) status (signal 0, exit 1) youch! i have plenty of disk and inodes free, and the kernel has "maxuprc 50" set. 2) This is another _occasional_ one, a slew of incoming batches go to bad, i get mail telling me to check errlog, but there's no comment there. On moving the batches back up to incoming, and doing a newsrun as user news, the batches unpack fine and life goes on. If you can help, *thanks*. Responses via mail please (if you can...) i'll post a summary to news.software.b. -- uucp: ...{utzoo,yunexus}!sis!doug phone: +1 416 845 9430 x446 else: doug%sis@nexus.yorku.ca

to which, in article <1990Aug25.172450.29894@sti.fi> ttl@sti.fi (Timo Lehtinen) replied % I had this and all kinds of problems with cnews until I switched from % sh to sh5. Try it, you'll like it. Not a lot, but you'll like it. :) Thanks Timo! C news has been running fine on Ultrix 3.1 (vax) since i changed #! /bin/sh to #! /bin/sh5 in all of the scripts. I hope this posting saves other Ultrician's ;-) from some grief. -- uucp: ...{utzoo,yunexus}!sis!doug phone: +1 416 845 9430 x446 else: doug%sis@nexus.yorku.ca
