we have some IVECS boards (they emulate dmf-32's, 4 apiece) in our 11/785's, and they've stopped working as of ultrix 4.0. we've checked everything we can think of (modem control bits in the kernel config file, devices are made, /etc/ttys is fine, etc), and the ports will work (we've gotten connections to the machine as the gettys are coming up). however, once getty has been turned on on the port for a second, the receive enable bit in the indirect.register[1] goes low, and the port becomes unavailable. similarly, once a valid connection is dropped, the receive enable bit goes low and stays there. now, the questions: does anyone else have IVECS boards in their vaxen, and if so, are you running 4.0? if you've got dmf-32's, are they working under 4.0? has DEC changed anything in the dmf drivers in 4.0? -sam
