[comp.unix.ultrix] setld problem or tape problem

LIM@rcgl1.eng.ohio-state.edu (Chin-poh Lim) (12/06/90)

hi DS users,

I am trying to load a subset from tape by doing this.....

# setld -a /dev/nrmt0h UDWUNMIT022

this computer respond by asking if the tape is mount and when I

reply yes, it says

Loading ULTRIX X11 unsupported (UDWUNMIT022)

mt -f /dev/nrmt0h fsf 22 : I/O error

Subset may not be loaded...bla bla bal

When I do setld -i, the subset is listed as corrupted....

Is there something wrong with the command I issue or is it the tape.??

I personally think its the tape, but I like a second opinion ..

thanks

I've had problems loading Ultrix 4.x subsets when in multiuser mode.
   Try it in single-user mode.
