I recently received a DEC TLZ04 unit. I`ll try to use it to do a remote dump, but after 300Mb it asks me to put another tape. Please does someone know the tape density registration for this unit ? Could somebody, please, post or mail the parameters that need to be specified on the command line or elsewhere that corrects this problem? The parameters that it uses currently are: length : 12000 feet density: 1600 BPI block size: 10240 bytes -- sudhakar Beckman Institute U. Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

I am doing un-attended nightly rdumps to two TLZ04 4mm DAT drives. Here are the parameters I use: rdump 0sdf 6500 4400000 fig:/dev/rmt0h These work from a Vax 3600 and a ds5400, both running Ultrix 4.0.
