I have compiled X11r4 on my VAXStation 2000 under Ultrix 3.0. That worked fine. Now I am attempting to get it to work, I have tried to run xinit by hand and get the following error messages : % cd /usr/bin/X11 % xinit giving up. xinit: Connections refused (errno 61): unable to connect to X server It is a monochrome machine so I have X -> Xqvss and I have /dev/X0 -> /tmp/.X11-unix/X0. Does anyone have any hints? Or am I barking up the wrong tree here. Do I have to do anything special in /etc/ttys to setup the VR260? I currently have the console on the tty port. You need to run /usr/bin/X11/xdm to start the server. On my systems I usually stick this in the /etc/rc.local file. -- Michael R.
