I wish to monitor printer usage via the accounting facility. I've added an 'af=/usr/adm/ln03r.acct' entry in my /etc/printcap file and restarted the lpd deamon but no information gets written to the accounting file. I 'touch'ed the file which is owned by root, mode 644. Its size remains 0. Where did I go wrong ??? -- Janick Bergeron Bell-Northern Research, Ltd Ph.: (613) 763-5457 VHDL Tools P.O. Its size remains 0. You might want to try protecting them 664. My accounting files are owner root, group system, and mode 664 and things work ok. Another potential problem could be the filter: does it support accounting? -- Leonard Peirce Internet: peirce@gumby.cc.wmich.edu Western Michigan University peirce@gw.wmich.edu Academic Computing Services UUCP: ...!uunet!sharkey!wmichgw!peirce Kalamazoo, MI 49008 Phone: (616) 387-5469
