Our DECstation 5000 only has a thinwire ethernet adapter at the back end : But we need thickwire since we use twisted pair in the building ; the thickwire of a station is connected to a H3350 converter for twisted pair Ethernet. In order to get things working we connected the 5000 to a DESPR and the thickwire end of the DESPR is then connected to the H3350. Does anyone know whether this violates any Ethernet specs because sometimes we get 'carrier check failed' on the station (ncp show known line counters) ? Thanks for any help Marc ELSEN Reply-To : elsen@imec.be
