We are having problems with NFS between two Ultrix machines before and after
one was upgraded to 4.1. When both were 3.1c, our DECStation 3100 would have
problems compiling c programs whose source was located on an NFS mounted
directory, residing on a DECSystem 5400. The compiler would take an
inordinate amount of time to finish.
Now that we have upgraded the DECStation 3100 to 4.1, we have a slightly
different problem. A process (emacs) hung while saving a file and then
decided to crash.
First off, has anyone ever had such problems. If you did, what did you
do to fix it (assuming you did)? Secondly, does anyone know how to recover
a .nfs file? Thanks.
