[net.micro] C for Concurrent-Dos?

mas@afinitc.UUCP (Mark Savage) (09/04/85)

Could anyone help me out in finding a full K&R C-compiler for
Digital Research's Concurrent-Dos. I've seen many C-compilers for MSDOS
and CPM/86 but what about Concurrent-Dos? I would like to be able to
develop, and run, code on a PC/XT and/or compatible under Concurrent-Dos. Later
I will be moving to Xenix on a PC/AT and would like to make the move
with little or no alteration to the code.

I need the usuall requirements as listed below:

. Full K&R (good support of pre-processor commands)
	. Standard Unix functions
. Overlay support (I know, not supported via K&R, but may need it)
. Tight Object Code (The tighter the better)
. Fast executables (The faster the better)

The following are the wants but not absolute necessities:

. Fast compilation time (The faster the better)
	. In-line assembly
. Large and Small memory models
. Mixed-model would really be nice!

Any other information you might be able give would be very helpful.

	Such as:

	. How is support?
	. How is documentation?
. What quirks or bugs are there?
. Any particular likes or dislikes?

If the vendor of the compiler does not advertise it as being able to run
on Concurrent-Dos but you have tried it and it seems to work, that may also be
helpful. Any tools you know of for the compiler would help as well.

Any help would be extremely appreciated. I will post responses and my
final choice. Please respond via e-mail.

			Thanks in advance,

Not much, but Computer Innovations has a version for CCP/M. Don't know
anything more than this, but maybe you could ask them.
