Hello, I'm not a regular reader of this newsgroup, but I happened on one of the last articles of a thread on SLIP. We have a DS5000/200 in our Lab and we'd like to run SLIP on it. Since, this has been talked about before, please e-mail me any and all responses. If you've successfully installed SLIP, let me know what you did. I've installed SLIP on other machines (NeXT cube, IBM RT/115) so I know the politics involved with getting internet numbers/etc. What I'd like to know is the technical specifics of installing it for a DS5000 running Ultrix 4.1. In the thread I caught wind of, there was mention of DialupIP. Can I install this "out of the box" after I ftp it? Does it compile, or do I have to fondle it into working? If you have any experience with this, please email me at: sparkie@picard.cs.wisc.edu Since you people read this group and I really don't, if you think a summary of responses is a good idea, let me know in the email and I'll summarize if it turns out to be a good idea (or if I get lots of "me too"s) Any help is greatly appreciated. - sparkie -- ___ ___ ___ ___ _ _ _ ___ / __\| . \/ . \| . \| |/ /|_|| _ | sparkie@picard.cs.wisc.edu \__ \| __/| || _ /| < | || _[ - or - \___/|_| |_|_||_|\\|_|\_\|_||___| harier!sparkie@cs.wisc.edu
