[comp.unix.ultrix] cannot interrupt MONITOR commands in Ultrix 4.1 ccr

D. Allen [CGL]" <idallen@watpix.waterloo.edu> (04/24/91)

None of my DEC workstation keyboards have BREAK keys. When I use Ultrix
"ccr" to connect to a DECserver (e.g. DS200) and select a MONITOR
display, I have no way to send BREAK to interrupt it. ^D doesn't even
work. I have to log in on another terminal (or window) and kill the ccr
process, then clean up the raw mode tty it leaves behind, then log in via
ccr all over again. The remote console won't let me define a "local
mode" character, either. The tilde ("~") character seems to act like a
"local mode" character (most annoying when you're trying to actually type
it in), but tilde won't interrupt the MONITOR displays.

And how do I turn off the special meaning of tilde on the remote console?
