[comp.unix.ultrix] Cannot change parity on DECserver 200 remotely via Ultrix 4.1

D. Allen [CGL]" <idallen@watpix.waterloo.edu> (04/24/91)

I've tried a dozen different "stty" commands on a /dev/ttyXX port
configured to connect to a DS200 LAT port, and though I can remotely
change the speed of the port and the Interactive/Passall mode of the
port, nothing I have tried has managed to change the Character Size or
the Parity, which makes talking to some communications services (such as
Tymnet to DEC's DSIN) via my Telebit modem impossible. How do you set
the Character Size and Parity via ioctl calls from Ultrix? (And how
do you specify those settings in /etc/remote for the "tip" program?)

ULTRIX V4.1 (Rev. 52) DS5400
DECserver 200 Terminal Server V3.0 (BL33) - LAT V5.1
