[comp.unix.ultrix] NFS between ULTRIX and Domain/OS

gerry@swift.cs.tcd.ie (05/08/91)

We are running ULTRIX v4.0 on a DECsystem 5820 with a file system
remotely mounted from an Apollo DN10000 running Domain/OS version
10.3. If I do a df from the ULTRIX system I get the following two
lines:

NFS server wilde not responding, still trying
	NFS server wilde ok

and after about 15 seconds I get the output from df. wilde is the
name of the Domain/OS system. Running nfsstat on the ULTRIX machine
tells me that I get about 6 retransmissions and badxids for Client
rpc. The Apollo is unaware of any problem. Can anybody explain?

Well something like that happend here, when we started our NFS between
HP9000 and Apollo (3500). It works now quite correctly, and we havent
seen those messages, but I think they have something to do with Apollo
being so slow...:)
