I've currently got a HP Laserjet I connected to a DECStation 5000 (ULTRIX 4.1) via /dev/tty01 (RS232 port on rear of DECStation). I'm experiencing frequent buffer overflow errors on the laserjet. On investigation I found that the laserjet was sending XOFF's but the DECStation 5000 seems to ignore them ocassionally. One instance I saw over 50 XOFF's sent to the 5000 before dataflow stopped. Here's my printcap entry. I'm using a filter which was provided with DEC's PATHWORKS for ULTRIX V1.0. # # default entry for hplaserjet buslp|laserjet|lp1:\ :af=/usr/adm/hplaser_acct:\ :br#9600:\ :ct=dev:\ :fc#0177476:\ :ff=\014\033E\033&k2G:\ :fs#0000301:\ :lf=/usr/adm/hplaser_err:\ :lp=/dev/tty01:\ :mx#0:\ :of=/usr/pcsa/filters/hplaserof:\ :pl#66:\ :pw#80:\ :sd=/usr/spool/hplaser:\ :xc#077737:\ :xs#000040: -- Has anyone experienced anything like this?
