Please make sure that the vendor you are buying the 8mm drive from is using
the MXPROM REV 252X and SERVOCODE CO21 (If you're buying from Mountain
Network Solutions this should be the case automatically). This should allow
the 8mm drive to respond as a TKZ08-AA and Ultrix should have no problem
with the drive (this should work for the Exabyte 8200 series drives).

I'm not ignoring John's request to mail him the replies, I just get enough
questions on 8mm that I thought this would help.

				Thanx,
				  AJ

Hi,

We are going to get an exabyte drive for a dec 5000 systems but
before we do could anyone that has done this give some advice
on how to do the setup for it. We are getting a loaner
next week to try it out and make sure everything is working
and it would be nice if we new how to set up our system
  to work with it.

Any advice and or hints would be greatly appreciated.
