We have a DECsystem 5400 running as a filesever on our campus. Several computers are using it to mount a /local filesystem from this fileserver via nfs. All is working very well till probably one week ago. We got the message "can't get mbufs" on the console and shortly after that the system hangs. Our DEC specialists told us that it has something to do with "kernel memory"? We watched the ethernet traffic and saw quite a few collisions, but if this has something to do with the problem, we don't know! And why does it happen now after months of running without problems. Please let us know if there is a solution for this problem (should be), because this DECsystem is a very crucial system in our environment. Thanks a lot and please send you answers to: rchenk@urc.tue.nl Henk van de Langenberg Eindhoven University of Technology The Netherlands
