I am posting this question for someone who does not have access to comp.unix.ultrix. If anyone has any answers for him, please E-mail them to him directly, rather than posting them to this group (or sending them to me). Thanks. ------------Original Message Follows--------------------------------- Folks, Has anyone else already solved this problem that I have just run in to? I am trying to do unattended backups during the night and want to test the images on tape. I have scripts to capture and analyse the result of a "restore -t", but it all fails when 'restore' can not open /dev/tty. The 'restore' program does not really need '/dev/tty' for this, but someone forgot to allow non-interactive operations. thank you all, Arthur Protin Arthur Protin <protin@pica.army.mil> These are my personal views and do not reflect those of my boss or this installation.
