[comp.unix.ultrix] Bookreader CD-ROM shared between nodes?

larry@abtlabs.uucp (Larry Pajakowski) (06/21/91)

We are ordering the CD-ROM package for our RISC boxes which includes the
Bookreader. If I have 2 nodes do I have to order 2 such packages or can I
use 1 CD-ROM for both nodes?

Related question. Once Bookreader is on Ultrix will I be able to access the
VMS Bookreader on our infoserver?

Many thank's in advance.

1 CDROM. NFS-mounted. Bookreader is included with ULTRIX.

No. Currently the filesystems are different. One can -- always could
-- remotely run bookreader on VMS and have it display to your ULTRIX
workstation, of course.

Put the CD reader on one system and arrange for it to export
the file system. Then other systems on the network can NFS
	mount the Bookreader directory.

Having the 2nd CD reader could be useful because you do
the thing with some other CD.
