Can somebody explain what "segmentation faults" are. These result in a core dump. I gather this is some memory management problem...? I am used to VMS and handle this sort of thing with pgflquo or WSxxx settings in the uaf or with the pagefile size. Is there a similar way of controlling how memory is used in Ultrix? Some home written and some third party programs cause segmentation faults when we run them on our DS2100 and DS3100 (RISC Ultrix 4.1). Even more annoying is that /usr/bin/mail does this as well. Our manuals say that this mail is obsolete but should be retained as sendmail uses /usr/bin/mail to deliver the messages locally. We seem to be able to send mail away, but not receive it, or at least, not on our Decsystem3100 server. Can somebody point me to a spot in our mountain of gray manuals or offer any suggestions?
