[comp.unix.ultrix] X and PS poll

lidl@eng.umd.edu (Kurt J. Lidl) (07/01/91)

I've been wondering about a topic that seems to come up
frequently in comp.windows.x, but never discussed much in depth...
(For this reason, I have cross-posted into several other
newsgroups.) Please note, followups directed to alt.sys.sun, so as
to not annoy too many people. So, I'm taking a quick poll. Please
*MAIL* me any responses, and I will summarize as best as possible.

Do you use a PostScript/NEWS extention to X?
If so, what are you using it for?

If you don't have a PS/NeWS extention to X, do you use a
PostScript interpreter regularly, such as GhostScript. If
you use an interpreter, what do you use it for?

I'm not particularly interested in why XYZ's Xfoo+NeWS is the
best thing since sliced bread -- I'm really interested in why people
need this capability and what they are doing with it once they have
it. (If you feel compelled to tell me about a way cool feature in a
specific product, I'll listen, but it most likely won't make it into
the summary.)

Thanks for reading this. Even more thanks for replying.
Sorry if you see this post more than once.
