[comp.sys.encore] Cache hits?

I have recently been trying to make an analytical model of the
performance characteristics of one of my programs. Now, the cache plays
an important part in the Multimax since it greatly decreases the number
of references to the main memory. (In fact I have measured that references
to Main memory may take as long as 3 times the time to reference the cache).
The question then is: Is there any way at all by which I could measure
the cache hit ratio.

There is no way to measure any cache statistics in software on the Multimax.
You will have to take measurements of various hardware signals and conditions
on the processor card and interpret the results. A reasonably sophisticated
logic analyzer would work if you had the schematics and knew what to look for.
