A while ago I posted about processes seeming to be killed without warning. Now, it's even stranger. Quite often, while dialed out to another system, the Multimax seems to hang, and eventually I get thrown off. Then the system seems reluctant to let me in again. After a few seconds, it finally gives me the login prompt. It's almost as if my shell is being killed. Another more recent problem is the "invisible process", as it got called here. Sometimes someone can't log out properly and his entry in /etc/utmp isn't erased, so he always seems to be logged in, although no processes are running. Is there an easy way to fix this?? For information, it is a Multimax 320 running UMAXnfs 4.2 3.2.1. Finally UUCP works... -- =========================================================================== Brian O'Neill - Boston University Corporate Education Center, Tyngsboro, MA UUCP: {decvax!elrond,ulowell}!bu-tyng!oneill --------- oneill@bu-tyng.UUCP Internet: oneill@bu-tyng.bu.edu (617) 649-9731 x14
