I suppose this should be comp.sys.annex or comp.sys.xylogics, but in their absence, I post this here. I am attached to the rest of the Internet via a SLIP connection on an Annex I box. Everything was fine until I had more than one host on my network. Naturally, the other machines on my ethernet other than the one with SLIP are not directly reachable from the Internet. Running /etc/routed on the SLIP machine "fixes" this, but the Annex will crash several minutes after routed starts up. The dual-homed SLIP/ethernet gateway has addresses 128.103.254.1--SLIP, and 128.103.254.129--ethernet. The other ethernet machines are numbered 128.103.254.130, 128.103.254.131, and so on. My netmask is 255.255.255.128, using the MSB of the last octet to select SLIP (only one interface, of course) or ethernet. Anyone have any clues? Why would an Annex crash like this? /Steve -- Steve Dyer dyer@ursa-major.spdcc.com aka {ima,harvard,rayssd,linus,m2c}!spdcc!dyer dyer@arktouros.mit.edu
