We have two Encore Multimaxes here, and are in need of more disk space
for one of them. This machine currently has:
1.4Gbytes of Encore supplied disk, hung off
2 Encore LDC-01 disk controllers, hung off
1 EMC-III
We are wondering if anyone has ever used 3rd party disks. Are they
useable, cheaper, reliable?
Please send me your experiences by e-mail. I will summarize to this
news group.
Thanks in advance..
Chris Ritson.

Some time ago, I posted a request for information from users of third party disks on an Encore Multimax. I received only one substantive responce: | From: "Michael J. North" <north@polaris.cs.uiuc.edu> | | We have been able to get some Wren V's (SCSI) working on a Multimax 310 | and a 320. The drive on the 320 must be daisy chained on the 320. | Had to play around a lot with the logical address of the disk and the | logical unit address. | We've had it running for about 2 months now. No problems to report thus far.
