[comp.sys.encore] undumping Emacs and X11

eap@cs.bu.edu (Eric A. Pearce) (12/05/89)

I have compiled Gnu Emacs 18.55 and X11R3 on a couple of Encores
here running Umax 4.2 (R3_3.0). I was able to make a regular
emacs with no problem, but when I define HAVE_X_WINDOWS and X11, I
do not get a working executable after temacs is dumped. Since
temacs runs fine I assume it is a problem with unexec. Does
anybody with this setup have it working?

The core file layout changed in release 3.3, and may be
	causing your problem. Consult /usr/include/sys/ptrace.h
	for details.
