[I tried to post this before, but I don't think it got out.] When I try to run xterm with permissions set to setUID root it seems to exit immediately. It will run when the setUID bit is not set (although it'll complain about not owning /dev/ttypXXX). If I'm logged in as root, it'll work. I'm running X11R4, on a Multimax 320 running Umax 4.3 Beta Release 4.0.20, and running twm window manger (although that shouldn't effect things). Any ideas what could be happening or has anyone ever seen this before? It might be more of a Multimax problem than an X problem, I don't know. Thanks. --Frank Adelestin (franks@cis.ohio-state.edu).
