[net.micro] Leading Edge PC Model D compatability

I have a (some) questions I hope someone out in netland can
answer regarding the Leading Edge PC. I know it is an IBM PC clone,
obsolescent technology, (read not a 68000 machine), but I have a great
wealth of PC software I don't want to toss down a rathole. I have been
offered a price with monitor, 640K upgrade, and Legend 880 (brand Z)
printer for $1495, which seems pretty good.
My main questions are (1) is it a fair deal?
                              (2) just how PC compatible is the L.E. model D?

Main applications will be word processing and spreadsheets (Lotus 123) with
a generous amount of Turbo Pascal, MS-Fortran, and graphics packages like
Dr. HALO tossed in (along with games such as Flight Simulator, Gato, etc.).
This model is supposed to have Hercules emulation with a monochrome monitor.
Will this adversely effect such items as HALO or the turtle graphics in
Turbo Pascal ver. 3.00? Are there any hardware problems or foibles I should
be aware of? Am I worrying too much? My point of reference is a COMPAQ+,
which has never complained about anything I've fed it. Any replies would
be greatly appreciated. If enough come in, I'll summarize and post to the
net.
                                        Thanks in advance,

                                                Martin Jordan
