Dear mailing list, I have 2 questions: 1) I received some information from Caplin Cybernetics Corporation (Poplar Business Park, 10 Prestons Road, London E14 9RL, (01) 538 1716), who have an impressive development environment for MicroVAX (Transputer Modules, Occam 2, AFS, Fortran, C, Pascal, Parallel Fortran and C, and a boot facility). Is there anyone out there who has experience (good or bad) with these products or with other development systems for MicroVAX ? There seems to be another company with plug-in boards for VAXes: U-Micro- computers Ltd. (Cheshire (0925) 54 117). Is there anyone who has experience with this ? 2) I will not be able to attend the Helios Developers Conference in Bath on july 7-8th. However, can anyone tell me the current status of the product? I have seen it on the Parsytec MegaCluster with 64 T800 Transputers in Utrecht and on an early version of the Atari ABAQ in Sheffield. How far are we away from a decent operating system on a multitransputer system ? How about automatic process to processor mapping, dynamic load balancing and debugging on a Helios system ??? Thanks, Patrick Van Renterghem (pvr@bgerug51 on bitnet/earn)
