University College & Middlesex School of Medicine University of London Department of Medical Physics & Bioengineering _____________________________________________________________ Wolfson Foundation Grant: Transputer Based 3-D Medical Graphics System Research Assistant Required _____________________________________________________________ Suitable applicants with computing or related experience are sought for a development team applying transputer technology to the areas of fast 3-D display, medical diagnosis and surgery planning. Emphasis is given to structured software development, advanced project research and coordinated teamwork. Candidates with Occam programming and Transputer related development experience would be preferred. The computing equipment consists of several PC-AT based T800 transputer development stations and a Meiko Computing Surface. The project also has access to Sun 3 Colour Workstations, a Norsk Data 32-bit supermini computer, PDP11/45s, a PC-AT based Imaging system and various micros, as well as peripherals including printers, plotters, video printer, laser printers, optical reader, modems, and a LAN. The successful applicant will be encouraged to register for a higher degree. Graduates in all science disciplines are encouraged to applied. The appointment will be for a period of 2 years in the first instance on the RA scales depending on experience and qualifications.
