At Newcastle we are researching into Fault Tolerant Techniques and intend to utilise Transputer technology. We would prefer all our software development to be implemented in a well known and widely available language (namely C) as opposed to the hardware specific langauge OCCAM. The intention therefore is to move away from the traditional transputer development system, and toward a more traditional operating system approach as provided by the HELIOS support environment. Having stated our objectives, I must also state that we are new to the transputer arena and therefore inexperienced, and would be grateful for any assistance you may be able to provide. We would be interested in any experiences you may have had or any advice you may be able to offer regarding use of the Helios Operating System. Please mail any information to me (D.G.Hunter@uk.ac.newcastle), then I'll summarise it and post interesting results back to the net. Thanks in advance.
