Dear transputer mailing list! As we are going to buy a medium-sized transputer system within the next three months (just above 50 000 British Pounds), the following questions are of great interest to us: 1.) We are going to ask Meiko, Parsytec, Parsys, Caplin, Topologix and Cogent (there is no ordering in that list). Have we missed any important company??? 2.) Are there any practical experiences with these companies and their products (hardware and software stability, especially nice or awful features, support available, bugs and problems, speed comparisions, quality of programming environment,...) I will treat any responses I receive strictly confidential! 3.) Are there any Cogent or Topologix systems running in Europe? Where? Are there any distributors for these companies in Europe? 4.) As we have a lot of Apollo workstations, an alternative would be to run PC boards in our existing Apollos. Is there any software for this combination (Dwight's C, Kirk Bailey's C, Helios, afserver???). What is the speed of the interface compared to the PC? What boards work in the Apollo (as Unix isn't happy about polling loops, the boards must generate interrupt or DMA signals...). Many thanks in advance for any answers I receive!
