First of all, thanks to all who helped on my long link query. Current problem is sustaining high speed transfer of data to disk. The application is mapping (to 10 microns) large photographic plates. We acquire up to 2 Gbytes of data per plate, and would like to stream this data through a Systems Industries 9900 controller at >500 Kbytes/s. Our original intention was to go via a QT0 and MicroVAX, but the limiting factor appears to be the Q-bus. DMA in, DMA out _plus_ VMS would appear to make sustaining 500 Kbytes/s impossible. Has anyone any suggestions as to how I can get sustained, high speed transfer from my transputers into an industry standard disk interface? SI can handle most interfaces, so all and any suggestions are worthy of consideration. Thanks, Magnus Paterson, Royal Observatory, Edinburgh.
