> Can anyone confirm that?

Yes, it's true... We had been trying to ring Niche for several days and
finally contacted the soliciter who has been put in charge. Bad news ...
he said "You have no chance of getting any money". Good news ... "A rescue
plan is being worked on". All creditors will be contacted by post within
the next few days seemingly...so don't get hassled, as things seem to be moving.

It is unclear as to if this is affecting the UK operation, or if the US
side has also gone bang.

> Does anyone know how it happened ?
Nope, no idea here. We were supposed to be taking on a beta test for the new
sun 4 based system (uses the same VME type board, but differant software)
and that all seemed ok until just recently, except I know that Niche have
been experiancing difficulty producing the aforementioned sun4 tds due to
bugs in the new sunos for sun4's ( which make writting device drivers
difficult, not to say impossible). Cashflow seems likely....

"Not an complete answer - but possibly some help"

Several people have confirm that Niche (UK) has gone into receivership.
Does anybody know whether this affects the US side, too, and whether
the Niche Sun boards are just disappearing from the market. Is any
other company maybe taking over theese boards and producing and selling
them in future?
Does anybody out there has a complete overview of SUN based Transputer
boards (along with up to date software)?

Many thanks for hints, Peter
