After using the Transputer Development System manual for two weeks to write Occam code, I give up. This manual exemplifies why users reject new technologies because of poor documentation. The manual does not provide any examples of how to create separately compiled procedures, although the software does provide this facility. It also doesn't explain the changes the programmer has to make in order to successfully compile a procedure which works as part of a larger program. Although I would like to create a toolbox of programs that I could link together to create new programs, I've had to fight the system all the way along. I blame my frustration on the poor quality of the documentation, which has hindered my efforts to gain understanding.
