[net.micro] Racal-Vadic Maxwell 1200 V. Modem

Does anyone have any positive or negative reports about this product?

campbell%maynard.UUCP@HARVARD.HARVARD.EDU (09/25/85)

Yes, my (tiny) company has two and our (somewhat larger) affiliate has five
or six of these modems. They seem to be OK.

Pro:	Support all reasonable RS232 lines (most PC-flavor modems don't)
	Reasonably priced
	Relatively immune to line noise

Con:	Only one light
Only marginally Hayes compatible (not a problem for us)
Power supply is a bulky external black thing that sits on the
	floor and gets rather warm

Overall we like them enough that we'll buy more when we need more modems.

It works very well. Buy one if you have a choice.
