[comp.sys.transputer] Compilers/Assemblers

innes@tesun2.UUCP (Mike Innes) (05/05/89)

Can any-one advise me of a stand-alone parallel 'C' compiler with
associated assembler (not an in-line one as for the 3L one).
It would be nice if it could be useable on a Sun, but I have access
to IBMs if necessary.

I have an application with 'C' run-time code, hand-written
assembler, and generated assembler from a compiler written
for PARLE (a parallel language developed under ESPRIT project
1588 - SPAN) and would desparately like to get it running on
multi-transputers.

Thank-you in anticipation of an over-whelming response.....

RE: parallel C compilers and associated assemblers

There is a very nice C, assembler, and a number of other
languages associeated with the Helios operating system. The C
compiler supports some form of in-line assembler, I believe via a
macro in the system.

These compilers work in conjunction with Helios so it may not
satisfy your stand-alone requirement, but it certainly gives you
a means of getting your code up and running.

Helios is a product of Perihelion Ltd. in Shepton-Mallet,
England. MIMD Stystems is a West Coast (in the U.S.)
distributor.
