Dear Mailing List: About multitasking PC/386 transputer hosts: As far as I have heard, the most useful software in this direction is VM/386 by IGC (I have not tried it yet, but I will do so soon, and I also have no connection with ICG): * It allows multitasking between several independent DOS sessions (each DOS may have its own screen, its own AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS, and its own TSR programs). You may even run different DOS versions in parallel! * It is said to be very unintrusive. * It allows scheduling priorities to be adjusted and does preemtive scheduling. * It allows one partition to run with device drivers not known to VM/386. I hope that helps. I'm also interested in any experiences with VM/386 and transputer software.
