Some questions on Parallel C by 3L : I wrote an example (multi-tasking) program, then placed all tasks on the root transputer. It worked. I changed the configuration to place some tasks on other transputers. It did not work. The message was: Failed to send boot file: Something.app Server terminated : Cannot not boot root tranputer. The configuration (WIRE statements and channels) seems to be OK. There are not any problems with the TDS on any machine I have tried this (both AT's and XT's). My question is the following : Based on the instructions/example in the beginning of the "Parallel C User Guide" the only thing that changes when you add transputers to the network is the "something.cfg" file turning to "somethingelse.cfg" (with added processors, wires). Re-configuring (based on the *same* .b4 files) gives out the correct multi-transputer .app (application) However near the end of the book, ("loading a network of multiple transputers") you can read the phrase "For the multiple transputer case, a more complex .b4 file must be produced by the configurer." The configurer builds a larger .app file for the multiple-Transputer case, but does not change the original .b4's anywhere. Have I missed anything ? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I would like you to post your answer, not because "I dont have time to read this newsgroup" but because we now have problems with news distribution and the answer might expire before I read it.
