Not true.

CBEMA is the Computer and Business Manufacturers Association.  It is a
non-profit trade association which amongst other things acts as the
secretatiat of:

X3 - Information Processing Systems
A fully accredited standards body operating under the procedures of the
American National Standards Institute.

CBEMA does not purport to be ANSI, and it does not live on goverment
contracts.  If you have been on an X3 committee you should have a better
grasp of the administrative structure.  Please be more careful when
posting.
