Howdy transputer folks, A user here is preparing to work on a Mac-based transputer, but would like to "practice" (while waiting for the hardware) with an occam simulator on a MicroVAX 3900 running Ultrix 3.1. It is my understanding that an occam simulator is available from INMOS as a part of their toolkit, but we're not too keen on buying the whole package for the mini when we won't really need it in the long run. 1. Is there any other source for an occam simulator (preferably a cheap source)? 2. I was told that the simulator is *excruciatingly* slow - would it be possible for someone to give me a rough estimate of just how slow? Is this going to bring our machine to its knees? My user may decide/realize that this is not feasible with our current platform (something tells me this may be the case). Thanks much in advance for any help - I'm a novice in this arena of computing, so I'd be grateful for any advice you can provide. Please respond directly to me, as I am not a member of the list. - Gregg *=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* Gregg TeHennepe | Academic Computing and User Services Minicomputer Specialist | Box 5482 BITNET: gateh@conncoll | Connecticut College Phone: (203) 447-7681 | New London, CT 06320
