Two public domain utility programs that I wrote -- 'tcc' and 'tll' -- are now available by anonymous FTP in tcgould.tn.cornell.edu. Sources, documentation, and so on are in 'transputer/tcc.tar'. (I realize it's sorta silly to put MS-DOS utilities in a tar archive, but that's life in the global village.) For the benefit of those that didn't see my earlier posting to 'comp.sys.transputer', I repeat my description of the utilities below: ----- (begin re-run) ----- I've written two public domain utilities that make it easier to work with the Logical Systems Transputer Toolset on MS-DOS. With some modification, the utilities should also help a lot on Unix and VMS systems. The utilities probably won't help that much on Macs. The utilities: tcc -- Like a weak version of Unix 'cc'. Provides a single command-line interface to the preprocessor, compiler, and linker. It creates a batch file (or, someday, a shell script in Unix) containing calls to the three language programs, then distributes flags on its command line to the appropriate programs in the batch file. Then it runs the batch file. Never invokes the linker. tll -- Provides a command line interface to the linker. Converts command line flags to a command file, then runs 'tlnk' or 'vtlnk' with the command file. Both utilities accept command line "metafiles" -- files containing additional command line flags -- to help you get around DOS' 128-character limit. Documentation is in ascii and Mac MS-Word 4.0 (binhexed) formats. Everything will be released "as is", with no support from me or the company I work for, Nth Graphics, Ltd. ----- (end re-run) ----- If you can't FTP to Cornell, write me and I'll e-mail you the stuff. Or you can snail-mail me a self-addressed, stamped envelope with formatted PC and Mac floppies, and I'll put the stuff in there. Be prepared for a long turnaround in either case. Be sure and tell me: (1) If you want me to send the Mac MS-Word documentation (binhexed in the email case). (2) If you want the files in a couple of shar archives, or each file in a separte mail message (about eight files total). -- -- Kelvin Thompson, Lone Rider of the Apocalypse kelvin%nth.uucp@cs.utexas.edu {...,uunet}!cs.utexas.edu!nth!kelvin Nth Graphics, Ltd. 1807-S West Braker Lane Austin, TX 78758
