iiuu a u I'm running MS-DOS 3.0 on an AT (512k RAM w/256K ramdisk using VDISK, no hard disk) and am running out of environment space. I've tried including the following in my config.sys: shell=\c:command.com \c: /p/e:30 however the system will not accept this on cold start. It appears that entering set shell=\c:command.com :\c /p/e:30 from the keyboard does work. Can anyone help? I can be reached at AT&T Bell Labs on 201-386-6865 or via the net *** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR MESSAGE ***

Try to upgrade to DOS 3.1. That might do it. I am using 3.1 myself and have the SHELL= ..... /p/:30 command in my CONFIG.SYS file and it works just fine. Watch out that this feature (/:xx) is an undocumented feature. So the usual caution applies here. It might not be there in future relases of DOS.
