[comp.sys.transputer] General

Guess who's just found out about this billboard ?

A few questions from a relative newcomer :

1) Is there anybody with a 16 bit link adaptor ? Perhaps a custom chip, or a chip set including a C011 or C012.

2) Why has there been so little news about the next Transputer ? Rumour has that it may have 8 links, or a memory management unit but not both.

3) Is there a mouse driven, pull-down menu shell available. From who and how much ? Does it run on the Inmos or the Intel side of life ? I'm guessing that Xwindows runs on the PC side. Please advise.

4) Is there any way to get around the array restriction of about 50000 imposed by the TDS2 D700d ?

5) Last one. Is there any detailed introductory text on GUY coding ? I'm finding the Inmos compiler Writer's guide a bit tedious.

Any help will be appreciated.
From : Mitch, out in the wilderness.
