At present, the only way I know of running occam on a Helios system is to dedicate one transputer to run the TDS with another transputer running the Helios TDS Server that does the same sort of thing that the host driver does on the standard PC based TDS. What I really need is an occam compiler that will run under Helios just like the Helios C compiler does. In the October 1989 issue of "Parallelogram" (issue 19 page 6), Peter Cavill of Inmos is quoted as saying, "In standalone workstations we will support existing operating systems like Helios and TransIdris by making sure that Inmos software executes under them." Does this imply that we will see an occam2 compiler for Helios? If so, when? Can anyone at Inmos comment on this? -- Nigel Gamble uunet!modcomp!nigel modcomp!nigel@uunet.UU.NET
