My colleague and I are seriously considering abandoning the 'bare bones' approach to parallel software development. We are VERY interested in learning about the experiences of others with respect to HELIOS and/or TROLLIUS. Specifically, 1. are the C and/or FORTRAN compilers any good? (i.e. do they take good advantage of the transputer hardware, such as implementing something equivalent to the Occam PAR and ALT statements?) 2. How reliable/useful are the runtime environments. Do they have parallel debuggers, and if so, are they any good? 3. How work is involved in getting them up and running on UNIX systems with attached transputer engines? 4. Finally, we need e-mail addresses and/or phone numbers for the vendors. Any and all help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
