Dear Mailing List: Concerning folding editors: It should be relatively easy to implement such a thing with some small macros on the IBM VM Xedit (or, more important, on its PC clone Mansfield KEDIT) by using the selective editing feature (the selective editing feature is the base for the famous "all" macro on these editors: Each line may be assigned an arbitrary number, and only lines with numbers in a given range are actually displayed). An insider told me that writing macros to calculate numbers according to the indention level and hence displaying all lines within a certain indention range should be a matter of a few dozen lines of macro code, and true fold editing should be possible with a little bit more efforts, too (he refers to KEDIT, not Xedit). Hope that helps. ************************************************************************ * Klaus Kusche * * Research Institute for Symbolic Computation * * Johannes Kepler University Tel: +43 7236 3231 67 * * A-4040 Linz Telex: (Austria) 22323 uni li a * * Austria (Europe) Fax: +43 7236 3231 30 * * * * Bitnet: K312240@AEARN * * Arpa/CS/Internet: K312240%AEARN.BITNET@CUNYVM.CUNY.EDU * * UUCP: mcvax!aearn.bitnet!K312240 * * Janet: k312240@earn.aearn or k312240%aearn@earn-relay * ************************************************************************
