[comp.sys.transputer] Distributed Filesystems/GNU Compiler?

xputer@tcgould.TN.CORNELL.EDU (Dave Fielding) (12/15/89)

Filesystems:

I am presently in the preliminary phase of designing a filesystem
for Trollius which will run on an array of disks slung off of
transputer nodes. A few weeks ago a number of people expressed an
interest in SCSI disks in transputer networks. I am very
interested in hearing from people who are presently involved
in or are planning to get involved in filesystem software
development inorder to discuss various approaches to distributed
	disk systems on transputer nodes.

GNU:

I've recently heard rumors that there is a transputer back-end
for the GNU C compiler. If you have information concerning this,
or you are interested in investigating a transputer back-end for
the GNU compiler please let me know. We are very interested in
using this as our compiler for the Trollius operating system and
are investigating this possibility. If it doesn't already exist,
and the idea is feasible, then maybe we can initiate a collabration
among interested parties to work on it.
